Location:  Bangalore

Network L2 will be based onsite for overall network administration related issues / requests. Candidate must act as communication channel between Customer & IBM Team for Network related activities. Candidate must display high levels of ownership, responsibility and drive in finding solutions to issues faced by the customer.

 

• Should have experience in production network environment in CISCO data devices.

• Good Knowledge of L2, L3 Protocols for IP Networks e.g. DHCP, DNS, VLAN, PPP, ICMP, ARP, NAT, QoS etc.

• Sound knowledge of routing protocols like OSP, EIGRP, BGP etc.

• Sound knowledge of OSI layer model, TCP/IP protocols, Subnetting, VLANs CSMA/CD.

• Sound knowledge of switching technologies like STP, VRRP, Port Security, Inter VLAN routing, Load balancing, IOS Upgradation etc.

• Good knowledge of routing concepts like static and default routing.

• Good knowledge of IP/IPv4/IPv6 Network Troubleshooting & related tools e.g. PING, TraceRoute, Nslookup, Packet capture, Speedtest etc.

• Should have handled Cisco switches and routers.

• Maintain documentation in line with the network solution implemented.

• Maintain connectivity maps of the LAN/WAN environment detailing the connectivity and type of communication medium deployed.

• Record changes in the documents maintained on-site.

• Maintain location wise details of all leased, ISDN and other circuits.

• Monitor, manage and control configuration aspects like IP address, subnet mask in coordination with Team.

• Maintain configuration details and files of all routers in the network.

• Ensure relevant IOS images and configuration backups are maintained for all network & security devices.

• Perform periodic usage and bandwidth analysis and recommend to Customer any upgrades or consolidation required.

• Monitor existing IOS and patches installed, and manage new IOS upgrades provided by Customer.

• Update Customers IT team on the progress of any major incidents.

• Keep all stakeholders on the same page through effective communication in all situations.

• Follow the Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management & Asset / Config Management Procedure as per ITIL standards.
