Location: Pune

The Software QA Engineer will be responsible for test strategy and automation of Nortek Controls cloud, Recurring revenue platform and IoT device products. You will contribute to the test framework and automate the validation effort. You will work as part of a core team that would build best in class scalable cloud-based applications for NSC product family. As a strong team player, you will work with a high performing team doing state of the art development work in areas of home automation, security and control. You will work closely with Backend, Frontend and Product manager to translate the needs into a high-quality product.

• Create test plan and test cases

• Verify application for functionality

• Develop Test Automation for products

• Master the functionality of product

• Work with Scrum master and product owner in backlog grooming

• Work with Product managers to understand the product requirement & acceptance criteria

• Develop deep understanding of the architecture & implementation for the product

• Drive a culture of quality, technical curiosity, continuous improvement, and evidence-based decision making in the organization.

• Execute other Duties as assigned

• 3+ years experience in QA testing experience of device software, cloud applications, webapps

• BE/ME in computer science or computer engineering

• Experience with Javascript, Python, Shellscripts (or other scripting languages)

• Experience using testing frameworks such as Cucumber and Postman

• Experience with J-Meter

• Strong working knowledge of Automation Frameworks such as Junit and Selenium

• Experience in backend automation and CI/CD with Jenkins

• Experience debugging and capturing backend failures and Application issues

• Demonstrated competence and self-motivation in analyzing problems

• Ability to learn new test frameworks and test related environments

• GitHub account with self-authored projects is a plus

• Knowledge of REST APIs is a plus

• Coding experience in Java is a plus

• Git or similar distributed SCM tools experience

• Experience in Agile Methodologies and successful track record as a scrum master a big plus
