Description :
Responsibilities:
As a Work space automation engineer, you will be responsible for:
•Leading the automation drive in the workspace domain for SCB
•Interacting with business to understand requirements and engaging stakeholders in architecting the automation solution
•Analyzing existing business and technology processes in the workspace domain and translate them into automated tasks
•Providing architectural expertise in automation development with the responsibility of expanding and building the automation layer within the workspace domain for identified process and tasks - process automation
•Building the automation layer for our desktop as a service offering which also includes application virtualization and publishing
•Designingand building the self service portals in workspace domain
•Engaging vendorsfor delivery of the solution where required
•Engaging counterparts in integrating the automation layer with the underlying management layers and other IT infrastructure layers
•Working on building the automation components and owning the solution until it is transitioned to operations
•Playing the role of a subject matter expert in all automation related discussions, design reviews, technology & tool selection
•Developing standards, policies and procedures as well as best practices documentation.
Required Skills:
•Strong working knowledge on
oOrchestration and workflow automation techniques
oVMware automation using vCloud/vRealize Automation Center and vCenter Orchestrator (vCO)
oWeb server technologies such as Apache, HAProxy, or NGINX
oDevelopment languages, including but not limited to, Python, Ruby, Perl, JavaScript, Go, Java, YAML, Domain Specific Languages
oScripting, PowerCLI, BASH
oSystem integration with third party products like Active Directory, IIS, ITSM products, MS SQL Server etc.
•Experience deploying to Cloud using IaaS and PaaS models is a must
•Expertise in REST/SOAP web services
•Experience with BMC BSA, BAO technologies would be a plus
•Strong understanding of installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems, application software, cloud environments, networking, virtualization technologies (compute, storage, and networking), disaster recovery and business continuity solutions
•Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to dive deep into all aspects of the stack
•Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
•Knowledge on leading datacenter orchestration and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt
•In depth understanding of application technologies: Middleware, identity management name/address space management, systems management, monitoring, configuration management, chargeback, capacity planning and performance tuning, high availability architectures.
•Knowledge on ITIL v3 framework
•Ability to ramp up on new technologies quickly
•Excellent written and presentation skills
•Excellent teamwork and leadership skills
Desired Experience:
•7+ years in various roles in enterprise IT infrastructure
•5+ years in enterprise IT automation
•3+ years in VMware automation solutions
